How to decouple (unpublished) new WordPress site from an existing one?
-
I was logged in as administrator on a friend’s WordPress website, which has its own domain name and is not hosted with WordPress.
I forgot to log out before creating a completely new website, which (once published) will simply have a wordpress.com url (i.e. sitename.wordpress.com) and will be hosted with WordPress.
As a result, the new website is coupled with my friend’s one.
How do I completely decouple my new website from it? For example, how do I make the site admin as me rather than my friend’s email address? I tried simply adding myself as an admin but got the following error message when I received and clicked the link: You can not use an invitation that you have created for someone else
Thanks

Hello there,
I was logged in as administrator on a friend’s WordPress website, which has its own domain name and is not hosted with WordPress.
What is the URL of this site?
How do I completely decouple my new website from it? For example, how do I make the site admin as me rather than my friend’s email address?
An email address for an account can be changed here: https://wordpress.com/me/account
I hope this helps!
