How to delete a blog when you can't access your e-mail
-
I created a blog for a university project in January called Pheffect. The blog has since been graded but there are items in the blog that need to be removed as soon as possible.
I attempted to access the blog with what I believed to be the correct password, but it did not allow me access, so I requested a change of password, but did not receive the e-mail.
I am not 100% sure which email address the e-mail may have gone to (as I create a new e-mail address for every project that I need to complete a blog for (which are many over the last few years).
As a result, I can’t access the e-mail account to change my password, because wordpress cannot inform me which e-mail account I had originally used.
Ideally I would like to delete the entire blog and call it a day, at the very least I would like to know what e-mail account I used to create the blog so that I can access my change of password e-mail.
Thank you.

What is the URL of the blog in question? If and only if you are referring to a free hosted WordPresss.com blog the following applies.
You will need Staff help. In order to help you get access to your blog Staff need one of the following things in order to correctly identify you as the blog owner:
1. an email from the email address associated with the account or revealing what that associated email address was
2. the wordpress.com API key for your account. This was included in your welcome email with a note to keep it safe. Please do not post the API key here.
3. if you have purchased any upgrades for the blog a transaction number -
Hi sorry, The blog is hosted why wordpress.com not .org, simply forgot to include the url.
http://pheffect.wordpress.com/
I don’t have the welcome e-mail because I’m not sure what the e-mail address is.
Is it possible for the staff to provide simply which e-mail address is linked to my blog? From there I can access the e-mail account to retrieve the e-mails in order to change my password.

Thanks for providing the URL. This thread is flagged for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting.

I should also note that I received the “activate this blog” e-mail to this address <(email visible only to moderators and staff)>, and presumed that this was the e-mail address tied to the pheffect account, but I did not receive any “change of password” e-mails to that e-mail address, and when I tried to use that e-mail address rather than the pheffect username to change my password I received the following error message “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”

Hi there – only one user is listed for that blog, with an email follows this pattern: c[…]@w[…].ac.uk
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the reply Kathrynwp. I’m just not sure what email c[…]@w[…].ac.uk is, as I have only one university e-mail account which is (email visible only to moderators and staff) (ac.uk indicating an academic email).
I am wondering if someone hacked my account and changed my details, because when I initially attempted to log in, I know that I was using the correct password (as I have it saved automatically), but it was rejected.
How can I go about resolving this, as it is quite a time sensitive issue. One of my posts contains someone’s professional work e-mail address and they need it to be removed immediately.
Thanks

If I can provide the original “New WordPress.com Site: pheffect” and the “[WordPress] Activate pheffect.wordpress.com” e-mails to wordpress admin, would that be enough to confirm that I am in fact the creator and owner of the site?
