How to delete a category?

Hello, how in the world do I delete a category on my wordpress blog? Every time I search how to, all that comes up is how to do it on an old version of wordpress, and not the new current version. I have no idea how to do so, and would appreciate the help. Thanks!

1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.

2. To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to Dashboard → Posts → Categories
