How to delete a document in pdf but still visible in search engines.

Good evening, I am the owner, and also the webmaster of the site published on wordpress, of a pdf document that I published for trial; since it concerns a personal document of mine (it is my graduation thesis) I removed it from the media of the site, together with the page where I had published it, as well as permanently deleted from the trash can, but still appears in searches on the internet.

Since the book is my property, and I absolutely do not want to make it public, I kindly ask if anyone can tell me how I can definitely eliminate it from research.
Trusting in your kind feedback and cooperation, best regards.

Buona notte @curriculumalessandromerolle! Unfortunately WordPress.com does not control what search engines index. Your PDF file will most likely remain on search engines for quite a long time until they crawl your site and find that the PDF is gone and does not exist anymore. This could be weeks, months, or even years.

To help you better understand perhaps you can search:

“how long before search engines stop indexing pdf”
“quanto tempo prima che i motori di ricerca smettono di indicizzare il pdf”

on google, duckduckgo, or your favorite search engine. Buona fortuna!

    Hi Alessandro,

Only search engines can decide when and how to remove your content from their search results — WordPress.com doesn’t have any control over this. If you have already deleted the file from your Media Library and trashed the page, you could make a request for Google to remove the outdated content from their search results:

    Best of luck.
