How to delete an account

  I’m trying to delete an account but WordPress.com is trying to not let me go :)
  How can I leave WP and delete my account.

  WordPress.com accounts can’t be deleted. This is to prevent impersonation by anyone registering and using the same username in the future.

  Automattic, which offers WordPress.com, also offers many other products and services listed at https://automattic.com/ that require a WordPress.com account. This is another reason why WordPress.com accounts can’t be deleted.
