How to delete an account?

  Hi everyone! I deleted the site of a friend ( monicafucini.wordpress.com) two days ago, because it was very old and couldn’t update to a new wordpress version.

  Now when I’m trying to make a new website I can’t register with the old one. So I decided that I have to delete the account in order to register a free domain with the same name.
  Is there a way to do that? or I don’t have to delete the account?

  Right:

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (such as yourgroovysite.wordpress.com)

  Delete a Website

  No, there isn’t:

  but you can add a custom domain:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Thank you! But why wordpress told me that the name (monicafucini.wordpress.com) will be available again at the moment of deleting, if it was not for that I wouldn’t delete it.

  You have multiple warnings before the deletion (+ 1 e-mail).

  Yes but it was told me the name would be available. Abìnd also my friend said she did not received any email for confirmation.
