How to delete an "Associated Domain" ?

(Please, pay no attention to the mistakes of my english, i’m not an english spoken native)

    Hi,

My question is about the blog named “radiofajet.wordpress.com”.
It was created to give autonomy to the employees of this radio station.

By mistake, our Domain Name FAJET.NET (managed and invoiced by OVH.com) was also associated with this blog, and set as MAIN DOMAIN.

Now, we want to resume th management of the Domain Name, to be able to access again the pages always present on our OVH hosting.

So I choose “radiofajet.wordpress.com” back as MAIN DOMAIN.
But I can’t find anything in the interface to delete the ASSOCIATED DOMAIN “fajet.net”…

    Please note these remarks :
    – We don’t want to suppress the domain, but its use by WordPress.
    – in french : associated domain = “Domaine associé”
    – in french : main domain = “Domaine principal”

Can you do something to help us ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi, can you contact OVH? I can see you’re using their name servers to point the domain here. You’ll need to update the settings to point there instead. Once you’ve made that change, please allow several hours for the changes to take full effect.

HI, Thank you for your answer.
Do you mean I must contact OVH to update the settings of fajet.net to point to OVH itself ?

  • Hi there,

Pointing the domain’s name servers away from us, and to OVH instead, will stop the domain redirecting to the WordPress.com site, yes. That can be done from OVH’s end using the account you used to buy the domain over there.

You don’t see an option to disconnect the domain on our end, or rather, cancel the mapping upgrade connecting it here, because your account does not own that upgrade. That upgrade belongs to a different admin account on the site, radiofajet. If you log out of francisrakotoarison and log in as radiofajet instead, you’ll see that upgrade, and should be able to cancel it, from the Purchases page.

Even if you cancel the mapping, you’ll still need to point the domain back to OVH as well (or wherever you want to host it.) Cancelling the mapping will only sever the connection between the domain and WordPress.com site on our end, but won’t stop the domain from pointing to our servers.
