How to delete an old site

I’m trying to delete naughty magpie willows site because I did it when I was learning and made mistakes. I deleted my identity and now I can’t sign into it to delete it and I can’t make a new site in the same name because the old one exists. I did it in wordpress and Blogthingy and so now I’m scuppered. Can anyone help please ?

Are you trying to change your username?
Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/

I think I have two identities on wordpress, each with blogs. I have found a thing where you can move blogs from one identity to another. When I sit down to this again I will try and figure it out. Thanks for your help today.

Okay then. Yes, you can transfer a blog to another username account.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. Then see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
