How to delete footer that says: create a blog at wordpress. harmonic theme"
-
Hi,
I edited my front page using the design of the harmonic theme and I don’t know how to delete the harmonic advertisement footer at the bottom of the front page that says: create a blog at wordpress, harmonic theme.
How can I delete that from my front page? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Dear jessemusica,
You cannot remove the footer. Deleting or hiding the footer info is a Terms of Service violation and could get your blog suspended.
“The current policy about the footer has been added to the support documentation for you:
May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit.” -
Thank you very much for the info. That’s bad news because I’m paying WordPress so I don’t have the wordpress’ advertisement on the URL and since I decided to use the front page design of this theme I have the advertisement in the footer now :(
-
Just a note on “paying” – the VIP program starts at about $20,000/yr and they are still required to have footer credits

I wouldn’t mind if the footer was smaller. But in this case is almost as big as the menu at the top…
-
the other themes I’ve seen on wordpress have it much smaller and after you scroll down to the end.
-
Do you know how can I do to make the footer appear only at the end, when you scroll all the way down, instead of being there the whole time when you enter the website?
Like I have on the rest of my website that the footer only appears at the end: http://jesicalevi.com/quotes/ -

You may use custom CSS to tweak the look and feel of the footer as long as it’s still readable. Custom CSS is available with the Premium or Business plan. If you need help with the CSS after upgrading, you can post in the custom CSS forum to get assistance:

depending on the theme you can turn off Infinite Scroll and the footer will be at the bottom (I have it turned off on my site)

I.S. has been changed a bit – just looked at my site – if your theme has a footer widget area add some sort of widget to a footer area and that should turn it off
@kathrynwp – should be able to help you a bit if my instructions are not the best
-
auxclass – I think Jesica is referring to the “sticky” (fixed) footer in Harmonic that’s present on some pages. :)
-
Thank you so much to everyone! You’re the best for all the support and help :)
kathrynwp is right… I was wondering about the “sticky” footer in the Harmonic theme… I tried turning off the infinite scroll down but the footer was still there on the front page / home.
I don’t want to upgrade the plan for only editing the footer when if you go to the rest of my web site is all good (it isn’t sticky/fixed) :/ -
The fixed footer on some pages is a feature of Harmonic, it’s not something that we’re going to change. Making design tweaks is possible with custom CSS so that would be the route I’d suggest if the footer look-and-feel/stickiness is something you feel strongly about. Otherwise you might like to look for another theme whose footer you like better.

Ok – I know that some themes do the footer different – I have the same theme as when I moved here about 5 years ago and it has an old fashioned footer thing and I don’t like the I.S. as it can overload the browser and when I.S. first came out it was VILE and was not tested very well – (false infinite number of page views as you paged down – only took me a few minutes to find that BIG bug )
