How to delete free site/blog of *.wordpress.com
-
Hello. I would like to delete my site/blog but there isn’t the option in Settings to do this. There is only the option to cancel my account, overall. My account, I wish to stay/keep. I only want to delete the blog/site. With a free one, is this possible or must it be done by sending a request to the WordPress staff?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

re: deleting WordPress.COM hosted sites
All sites are independent. What you do on one or to one has no impact on any other site. To delete a WordPress.COM hosted site you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site. The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/ note the alternatives provided there.

If you are not logged in under the correct WordPress.COM username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account
IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting sites and/or site content or making the site private does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results) and we cannot help with that. Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

Just to add to this, when you do delete a site, the URL for that site will never be available for use again in the future.
For example, if you delete the site: carerablog.wordpress.com completely, “carerablog” can never be used again by anyone, including you. Just thought it might be worth noting. :-)

Hi shemlaha,
I would like to delete my site/blog but there isn’t the option in Settings to do this.
What is the address of the site you wish to delete?
Thanks!

Oohhh heyy alright, thank you thank you very mucho, got it now. It’s been so long since I’d logged in that I forgot that simple li’l detail: going to the address of the blog and logging in from that. What I was doing was going to just “wordpress.com” and logging in there instead. Duhhh…lol. And I’d also completely forgotten about being able to have a pic with the profile so I’ll be adding that sometime soon too, don’t have any good recent ones. I liked the concept of what I wanted to make that blog for, definitely believe it’s needed, and had all kinds of ideas of different things, but a spinal problem drains my energy level for even just regular daily functioning, so it’s been a bummer that time has basically been non-existent to really go at it. I still believe in the need and importance, but the availability of time is maybe off in the future somewhere.
However, my WordPress interest is rekindled because several weeks ago after some thought and reflection and coming across info I hadn’t been aware of before, I decided to start developing a presentation about plastic, water health/quality, countertop water purifiers and the *huge* difference they can make apart from the water being healthier & cleaner, ocean pollution, and the garbage exporting business resulting from the very unfortunate ways of reasoning of “well this really stinks but we’re befuddled and dumbfounded for how to deal with this problem.” I’ll be mailing it on DVD to a whole bunch of companies and organizations, couple government organizations and a couple universities I’ve learned good info about, that I hope will like the ideas I talk about towards the end for giving them some new inspiration and ways of reasoning. For the companies, I talk about how a small percentage of each of their revenue could be put to some kick-butt use, and even another group of ideas I’ve thought of for small sections of their buildings/facilities if they’d feel even extra-inspired, or else buildings available for lease close to their current buildings. There’s too little awareness compared to what there could be, too little interest too, and there’s too little corporate and political interest in reflective thought to explore different possibilities for making a kick-butt difference that, I think, wouldn’t take long to develop.
I was thinking of a YouTube account for the video presentation to be watched and downloaded, then realized hey wait a minute, duhhhh, a blog allows for people to share and say things besides just the video presentation being there, talk about developments and other new fresh ideas, while YouTube would be just for “here’s the video, come and get it anyone.” But because of how long it’s been since I’ve logged in here, I completely forgot about logging in to the actual blog address instead of just “wordpress.com”.
Thank you again for that reminder. Such a simple thing that I forgot and hugely helpful :-)

When reading your message, I remembered this was said in the WordPress help article about the name/address not being useable again, but wasn’t thinking of it at the time so I’m glad you brought it up. Necessary to keep in mind, since I do like and believe in the concept I had for this blog site and do want to develop it hopefully in the near future….but well, yes, it’d be no big deal really if I had to use a different name.

It’s “carerablog.wordpress.com” but the small li’l detail I’d completely forgotten about was taken care of in the first reply. So nice when it’s simple :-) But thank you for writing to ask and being interested.
