How to delete my name and address from Contact form

My most persistent problem in WordPress is that I can’t get rid of my name and address in the Contact form. (I think it’s called the Contact form in English; I’m working in Japanese.) Every time I open my website, my name and address are there again. I did send myself one comment to see if the page worked as soon as I set it up, but that’s all. Even after someone else has submitted a comment, my name and address remain there for all to see, which defeats the purpose of the Contact form. Here’s my website: http://gregsgarden.net and the Contact form is under the menu at the far right. Can anyone help?

  • I see a blank form when I visited your contact form..

Only you will see your own contact information pre-filled in the form, but your users will not. They will either see their own pre-filled information or a blank form.

By the way, could you post your future questions in the self-hosted forums at https://wordpress.org/support/

This forum is only to help WordPress.com users. As yours is a self-hosted WordPress.org based site, the right forum to get help is: https://wordpress.org/support/

WordPress.org forums require a separate account which you can create at https://wordpress.org/support/register.php

In case you haven’t got a chance to know the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress site), I encourage you to check it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thank you, that’s good to know. I thought everyone else could see my address.

I have accounts at both .org and .com. I thought I was asking at the right forum when I posted a similar question on .org, but I began to wonder when no reply arrived for a few days. Very kind of you to reply so quickly even when I was in the wrong forum. Cheers.
