How to delete my site

    I am attempting to delete my site but it does not seem to want to be deleted.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    However, regarding your question, please note that deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address (jarmilayu.wordpress.com).

    However, if you’re sure you want to permanently delete your site, first of all, make sure your site has not any of the following upgrades, because you will need to remove them first:

    a. Premium or Business Plan
    b. Custom Domain
    c. Domain Mapping
    d. Premium Theme
    e. Any other upgrade

    After that go to this link : https://wordpress.com/settings/general/ and scroll down the page until you will see something like this : http://zcreenshot.com/00zxr.png and click that and follow the instructions.

    Hi,

    thanks for the quick reply. yes I was on that page and tried to delete it but it does not appear to let me. in the meantime I’m removing all the content as I do not require it and do not wish it to be found. I now have a website somewhere else that is hosted and wanted to delete this old one. the only thing I thought I had was mapping as I did make use of that before my new website was built but then the new website took over – also on wordpress so I’m not leaving wordpress entirely. anything else to try?

    Hey Jarmila,

    When you click “Delete site” what happens ? You receive any message or something ? Yep, go ahead and empty your blog, here are some details on how to make sure you removed everything from your WordPress.com blog : https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

    HI,

    It allows me to enter the name of the site to confirm that’s the one to delete but then there’s a button to click and it does nothing it’s light red.
    The only option is the cancel button that then takes me back a step.
