How To Delete Old Blog
-
I have a wordpress.com site with sitename already, but I wantt to delete it and create a new site and sitename. How do I delete the old sitename so I can create a new one?

To change a blog URL ending in wordpress.com, please follow these steps.
Another alternative is to purchase a custom domain name to take “wordpress” out of the domain altogether. -
I clicked on Dashboard, and then I clicked on “My Blog”, but the page I get isn’t the one shown in the instructions. Instead of a page that allows me to change the blog URL address, the page I see shows alternative ways to “Post By Voice” (whatever that means). How come I don’t see the right page?

Please try from https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs instead.

I just clicked on the link you suggested and got exactly the same thing–a page that has a peculiar layout with three rows of largely empty space. The only words in these three rectangular blocks are “primary”, “dashboard”, “stats”, “publicize”, “post by email”, and the name of my current blog’s letters spelled out vertically. Do you know what this page is? How do I get to the correct page I need to change the blog’s URL address?

That’s the page you need to be on, but it sounds like you’re browser window is too small (forcing everything to be vertical). Can you make your browser window larger?
