How to delete old URL after changing to a new one

When I wanted to change to a new URL, there was a form to fill in and there was this question asking if I wanted to discard my current address?: ‘Yes permanently disable yvonnesjourneys.wordpress.com’ (I changed it to yvonnewandersaround.wordpress.com). I never checked this box cause I wasn’t sure if i want to use it again. Days after, i’ve decided that I am not gonna use it anymore. I have two sites under my setting now so i really want to delete the old one. Please help. Thank you.

Hi Yvonne – It appears that the old site yvonnesjourneys.wordpress.com is empty, so the process to delete it is simple.
In your site’s dashboard, go to Tools → Delete Site, then choose a reason for your site deletion from any of the options you see on the screen. All options will allow you to delete your site.
You will be prompted to answer some optional follow-up questions and then select Delete Now.
This will be followed by one more prompt…this is a permanent decision, you can never get the old name back, so it is making sure this is the direction you want to go.
Once you have done this, the site owner will get an email confirming the choice, with a link to click to confirm.
Please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

If I clicked on ‘delete now’, will i lose my contents in the new URL I created as well? Cause it’s written there that ‘if you’d rather just delete your site, make sure you have all your content before you go!’ Thanks.

You should be in the dashboard for that specific site when you complete this process. When you get to the confirmation popups, it will specify which site is being deleted. Make sure to verify it is right on that screen.

The old site has a great name / URL, seems to me a great waste to burn the name down. How about setting it to “Private” so when you want the old name for something it will be waiting for you. That way nobody can see the old site (but if it is empty nothing much for people to see anyway) – since delete is gone forever, I never recomend that someone delete a site
