How to delete static Home tab

  • Unknown's avatar

    I am tying to delete my “Home” tab. I created another static home page titled “About,” but still have the “Home” tab showing up. I am not able to edit the original code. I did upgrade to get the CSS customization so I can add code. I checked the page source and found what I think is the code for the tab on line 118. I tried adding the following to the CSS panel, which did not work:

    <li><a href="http://pamjd.wordpress.com/">Home</a></li>

    {
        display: none;
    }

    Please keep in mind that I am a novice with HTML and CSS, but I’ve been successful in the past applying what I’ve learned in others’ forums posts

    Thank you!

    You shouldn’t actually need CSS to delete your home tab.

    It will be easier to achieve your goal by setting up a custom menu.

    Here’s the support page that tells you how to do it: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/.

    I also looked at your site, and I don’t see a home tab now, so maybe you already figured it out.

    Thank you for your reply. I ended up having other issues with this theme, evidently you can only create one custom menu. So I ended up changing the theme…which is likely the one you saw. Thank you so much for responding!
