how to direct traffic from old blog to new blog
-
I had a wordpress.com blog and have now switched over to a wordpress.org blog:
http://thefootballreferee.wordpress.com (old one)
http://thefootballreferee.com (new one)Is there a behind the scenes way to direct traffic from my old blog (in case someone had bookmarked it) to my new blog? Going forward the new one is the only one that will be maintained and updated.
thanks for your help…..I’m not very technical so hopefully I’m not getting in over my head in asking this question!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just leave a forwarding address in a final post, as in “This blog has moved” with the new address. And you may want to remove the old posts from your WordPress.com blog as search engines do not favor duplicate content.
(There is a technical way to do this, but it involves spending money and fiddling with DNS settings as described here, http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/redirecting-your-blog/ but since your blog is very new, it may not be worthwhile, but it’s your call. )
