How to disable a wordpress.com website?
-
I want to know how to temporarily disable a wordpress.com site without just deleting all the files. Is this possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sure! You can set your blog as private so only (and anyone you choose to invite) can see it.
Go to the admin section of your site, go to settings, then reading and select ‘I would my site to be private’ option.

I selected the “I would like my site to be private” option and clicked “Save Changes” but the site is still visible. Is there something else I need to do?
Thanks!

It’s private. You need to clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
-
It’s because you’re logged in to your WordPress.com account. When you are logged in it will be visible to you. Try signing out or using a different browser to verify.

I logged out, cleared the cache, tried a different browser, tried an iPad, tried a different computer, and still I can see the page. Anything else I can try?

I found the problem, the dashboard login that I was given does not correspond to the website they want changed. Once I get the right dashboard now, I will know what to do. Thanks a lot for all your help!!
