I need assistance disabling jetpack. The website it was activated on has been replaced, and the old URL now redirects to the new one. I cannot figure out how to disable it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Here’s how to disconnect a Jetpack site:

    Jetpack

Can you please let us know the address of both the old and the new site so we can better assist you?

Hi, I’ve tried to disconnect without success. When I log into WordPress I don’t see any sites.

The old site is kingcentric.ca. That URL now redirects to envisionking.ca.

    Your assistance is appreciated.

  • Howdy –

Do you want to keep the Jetpack plugin on the new domain?

Thanks for the response. At this time no. I keep getting peppered with these emails. Yet every time I go to my site it loads just fine. So I’d prefer to turn it off if possible.

    Hi,
http://kingcentric.ca did not load when we checked on Friday, September 21, 2:01 pm.
Your site is responding intermittently, or extremely slowly. This can indicate an overloaded, under-powered, or misconfigured server. Your site is probably loading for some users, but not for everyone.
If you continue seeing downtime, you should get in touch with your hosting provider for help. You will receive another alert when your site is online again.

  • Oh, I see. We can disable the Jetpack monitor.

Take a look at this section, “Is your site up and running properly, but you’re receiving ‘site down’ notifications?” on this page: https://jetpack.com/support/monitor/

    Hi,

Is there any chance you can help me disable this? It continues to send constant alerts.

  • Hi there,

Just to clarify, Jetpack is sending the notices for the site, kingcentric.ca, as that’s the only site connected to Jetpack. Jetpack does not know you took that site offline, and has no way of knowing that you’re redirecting the URL to a completely different site now, so it can only assume that something is wrong with the site when the site does not respond.

Even had you connected the new site to Jetpack, this would still have happened, as the new site is a different site, and not the same site just at a new domain.

I’ve now disabled Monitor and disconnected Jetpack from that site, so you will no longer see it listed in your WordPress.com account, and won’t receive any more Monitor emails.
