How to disable "Leave a Reply" box on each page

  I want to remove “Leave A reply” box on each page. I’ve tried going to screen options on each page and disabling comments, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I also followed the guidelines under Discussion –> enabling and disabling comments.

  There is a drop down in the top right corner called Screen Options. Click the drop down and check the box that says Discussion. This turns on the option to disable comments. You can also uncheck comments from the quick edit screen on the all pages screen.
