How to disable new post emails to followers

  We have removed the follow / subscribe widget from our blog page so we would like our readers to stop receiving the emails every time a new blog post is published. Does anyone know how to disable these emails from being sent out?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there!

  If your followers do not want to receive email notification of new posts, this is a setting they’ll have to change on their own. You cannot turn off this feature on your site.

  If your readers are unsure how to change their settings, you can send them the following link, which contains all the instructions they’ll need:

  Hi – thanks for the response. We do not want our followers to have to individually unsubscribe from emails. We want to turn these emails off from our end. Is there not a way to do this?

  There isn’t a way for you to turn off notifications. Technically, your site isn’t “sending” notifications. Rather, individual followers tap into your site’s feed and can either choose to receive notification of new posts via email, or by following you in their Reader.
