How to disable right click on photos
-
I found info on how to disable the ability for others to right click an image. Yes, I know that it will not stop people from being able to steal my photos. I’m just trying to make it not quite as easy lol
The blog says:
Go to your template Edit HTML and paste the following script right after the </head> tag.I’m pretty new to all this. So, I don’t know what that means! I have the free version of wordpress. I went to where I edit my blogs (&photos) & can’t figure out where I’m supposed to type this code. Can someone give me VERY step by step directions on how to find the above location?
TIA

Hi there,
There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/See here for a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. WordPress.com and WordPress.ORG have different logins.
If you use the Duotone theme right click is disabled. It’s not available on any other themes here and will not become available as it creates a false sense of security. Anyone can find instructions on the internet and get around it in less than 20 seconds flat. What’s best is watermarking your images or not placing any images and/or text you don’t want stolen on the internet at all. If you are referring to images this may help http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/19/watermark-your-blog-images/

Right clicks aren’t disabled by design in Duotone, it’s more of a side effect of the CSS. What’s happening is that the previous/next links have been rejiggered using CSS and are covering up the image — think of the link and the image and the other HTML elements being in layers and the links are in a layer above the image in this case. That’s why you get menu options relative to links when you try to right-click the image. It’s designed that way so you can click the left or right side of an image to browse through the posts. Clever!
Duotone is one of my absolute favorite themes. I love that it dynamically picks colors for each post based on the main image.
