How to disable the comments feature on the The Oxygen Theme

Hi there,
I am wanting to disable the comments feature so that all comments are made only via the Contact Us page. I have tried to disable the default article settings but the comments box still seems to appear on the bottom of each page I have created so far.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.
You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

Hi there, thanks for the prompt reply and apologies for the late reply. After having revealed the discussion options via the Screen Options menu I have been able to disable the comments. Many thanks
