  How to disable the “Take over” button to prevent other users to take control of a document being edited?

  There isn’t a way to disable it.

  The only thing I can think of that might help as a workaround would be to give people the Author role if you only want them to have access to edit their own posts.

  If you need them to have Editor or Administrator rights, then the best thing to do would be to talk to them and work together to make sure they know not to take over a post when you are editing.

  Thank you for the reply.
  I think that to suddenly take over while a user is currently working just not very professional. I hope WordPress add in its updates, an option to disable this process.

  Let your co-workers know. They may not understand how and when to use the Take Over option.
