How to Disable Video Download
-
Hello wordpress world,
I’m about to launch an online course – covid project! I want members to ‘pay’ for the video content. I understand that ALL video content can easily be downloaded, but I don’t want a button/share feature that makes it super easy. I’ve upgraded my wordpress/jetpack, and now I can uncheck, “Display share menu and allow viewers to embed or download this video.” When I uncheck this box, the share options go away, but the download option is still there.
I’m using media & text block. I have 43 videos and I’d like to get this solved ASAP.
Here is a TEST page with 1 video if you want to check it out: https://teamdivergentscience.com/jetpack-test-page/?preview_id=2096&preview_nonce=2e5f1d9ed5&preview=true
Any thoughts?
Thank you! Hannah

Hello there,
It looks like https://teamdivergentscience.com/ is a self-hosted WordPress site with Bluehost, which is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
You may wish to look at using something like Sensei https://senseilms.com/ to sell courses.
It has functionality to help protect video downloads and file downloads: https://senseilms.com/documentation/protecting-downloadable-files-and-video/
I hope this helps.
