How to disable 'view full size' under image Gallery Carousel?
-
Image Gallery Carousel feature is great. The optional EXIF meta data display is great, too.
Just that… how do I disable the dialog ‘view full size’ in Image Gallery Carousel?
There are 3 advantages doing so,
1. Reduce cluttering on screen.
2. Prevent unauthorized image distribution.
3. Save time on image re-sizing.Please let me know how to achieve that, thanks.

It is not possible to disable the link in the Carousel or on image attachment pages, at least not without buying an upgrade. If you purchase the Premium or Business bundle upgrade, you will be able to suppress the display of that link using CSS. More info here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Kindly let me address your points:
1. Reduce cluttering on screen. If you are worried about clutter, IMHO that link is no worse that having the EXIF meta data display
2. Prevent unauthorized image distribution. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but anyone who wants your image will have or find the means to download it. Use watermarking or other means of tracing your images online if you have concerns.
3. Save time on image re-sizing. If you are going to be uploading a lot of images, you should already be resizing and optimizing them before you upload them to your WordPressdotcom site. The advantages to this are maintaining image clarity, less of a bite taken in your free 3GB storage space and faster page loading time for visitors. The theme you are using, Harmonic, really doesn’t need images wider than 1216 pixels. You can read more about setting up and using Harmonic here: https://wordpress.com/themes/harmonic/
Let me know if you have any question on that.

Thank you Jennifer. I will look into premium plan. Hopefully it is not overly hard to hide that link. I have little web development skills.
I dislike displaying EXIF and have disabled it. What’s left in that corner is “View full size (resolution)” and I really wish to get rid of that.
You are right about I should have managed all photo resolution before uploading even I don’t plan to fully consume 3GB site storage. In that way, viewers can only download low resolution images at most.
Thanks again.

You’re very welcome. As you’re just getting started here, storage is really not an issue yet. The Premium bundle upgrade comes with another 10GB of storage, but you still want to resize and optimize those images prior to uploading exactly for the reason you mentioned.
If you do decide to go with the Premium bundle and need assistance with the CSS side, you’ll be able to get help in the CSS Customization forum.
Best wishes.
