How to disconnect new WooCommerce account from a pre-existing site that is hosted elsewhere
-
I tried to add WooCommerce Payments for a site I manage using WordPress.org on an independent web host. Required to create a WordPress.com account to do so. This new WordPress.com account has connected itself to our website and is stuck with an error because I refuse to give it DNS info, etc. for our site. How can I get the WC account disconnected from our website? The help text for deleting the WC account says it will delete my website data, which seems unlikely, but yet makes me reluctant to try deleting the account without more information.

Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
To use WooCommerce Payments on a site you must connect that site to a WordPress.com account. That’s because the WooCommerce Payments service is provided via our servers:
https://woocommerce.com/document/payments/connection/
However, you’re not required to give us any DNS information for your site to do this, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to.
I think your best option here is to contact WooCommerce support directly and describe to them what you’re trying to do, and what error you’re seeing. Then they can guide you through the steps to finish setting this up.
Use your WordPress.com account to log in over at WooCommerce.com, and then you’ll be able to open a support ticket with them at https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/
