How to display feature image on blog.
-
Hi guys,
At my blog found at genericity2010.wordpress.com, I have put up a B&W image as the large “feature image”, however it also appears in the most recent post.
Is there a way to have it appear permanently as the large “feature image” without appearing in the most recent post?
Cheers.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you blog more and do not add a different image as Featured Image, then it should stay.

At the moment, I do not intend to blog more. But I would like the image to not appear 2 times on the front page.
How do I remove the smaller image?
I have already purchased the edit CSS upgrade FYI.
I am thinking it might have to be a simple case of editing the CSS, does anyone know how to achieve that?

The featured image must, as far as I know, be contained in a post (that’s how you set it as the featured image). If you don’t want to blog more, I suggest you change themes and use one with a custom header, then upload the image as a custom header.

Your advice is relevant if I dont have a CSS upgrade purchased and I thank you for attempting to help.
However, I am quite certain it is possible to achieve what I want. The theme preview of “Structure” shows it having a different feature image from the most recent post, demonstrating that it is possible. I am looking for someone who has the technical know-how of making that possible.
Cheers.

I didn’t say it had to be in the most recent post: I said it had to be in a post. As you can see from panos’s instructions, it will be the most recent post in the Featured category.
The Featured Image functionality is theme functionality, and thus not susceptible to CSS changes.
