How to display long stories?

Looking for the best way to add long stories/editorial to a site. Example, 20k words in one doc. It’s a family history site if it’s all on one page it goes on and on. So how best to break it down / display it. thank you.

This is an example of how long a page is. There’s another one he wants to do from a PDF which is 80 pages and 20K words!!So how best to break it down.
