How to display more featured images BENEATH the slider in Oxygen theme?

Hi everyone!
Hope someone can help me with this question!

I love the Oxygen theme, and especially the slider which works great. The only thing is that beneath the slider, only three previous posts are displayed with the featured image shown. All older posts appear with only their title.

My question: Is there a way to increase the number of previous posts that appear including their image on the main page? (on other pages of my blog, all appear with their image…)

I see now that basically my question is, how to increase the number of “recent articles”, that is: Make articles appear in “recent articles” and not in “more articles”.
Since in “recent articles” the image is shown, and in “more articles” it is not.

Any help?

Does anyone have a clue how to do this?
I simply would like to have more than 3 “recent articles”. Can’t figure it out, and I’m getting pretty desperate.

Any help would be highly appreciated!
