how to display only the beginning of an entry

    On the first page of my blog, I want to show only the first 10 lines or so of an entry along with a thumb nail picture and a link to the full entry. I can’t figure out how to do it.

    Either choose a theme that does that automatically or use the MORE tag, the one that looks like a dotted line across the page. I think it’s icon 11 from the left in the Write Post page.
