How to display part/teaser of a post ?

Hello all,
I’m very nooby with wordpress, I installed it recently and have been playing with some of the features particularly the embed video feature/plugin I’ve had mixed results with it, but none the less it works.
What I would like to know is how to exclude a video from a FRONT PAGE post, but still keep some of the text. And if you click on the post title it will open a page with the video and any additional text.
