How to display preview posts?

    Wondering how I can setup my blog so that on my main page the posts I display only show a quick preview, say one paragraph, and then link to the full post? I intend to put up a lot of more lengthy photo-essay style posts and with the current format, it’s not easy for a viewer to simply peruse the main page and check out older posts.

    It seems that this forum is not easy to navigate…I’m only seeing the most recent posts. So I’ll bump my topic.

    To add more clarification to my question: Past blogs I’ve maintained on other websites have given me the option to have a homepage where my blog posts are displayed as previews, only about one paragraph of text, with a link to the full post, so as to not take up the entire page with one post.

    Do I need to simply post only one paragraph and then create the entire blog entry as a separate Page element and then link to that? That seems a bit silly. I would imagine a company as popular and commonly used as WordPress would have options like this built in….
