How to display specific posts on specific pages?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I’m having a difficult time trying to make specific posts display only on specific pages.

Example: I would like my new recipe post to display when the recipe page is clicked but also have a static homepage and pages dedicated to reviews. Etc.

I’ve tried searching the web for days and unable to find anything that works (or that even makes sense to me). PLEASE HELP!

    Thank you in advance,

    Theresa McKenzie

    Hi, theresamariemckenzie,
I just glanced at your blog and you’re off to a great start with a nice static front page. Congratulations.
Next, you need to create some image widgets and place them in whatever order you want on your front page.
Choose an image for your widget/page and copy the URL. Then paste that URL into the image widgets line that says, image URL. Then in the line that says, “Link URL (when the image is clicked):” at the bottom fill in the URL of your blog and the category that you want the widget to direct people to.
Oops, you know what McKenzie I just realised that you are self-hosted and should, therefore, be at wordpress.org for help.
This forum is only for wordpress.com blogs. (but I won’t erase what I started to type out because it works for all WordPress installations! Just don’t tell, okay?)
    Good luck,
    Amanda

    Try category pages.

You’ll find all the info you need for your standalone WP install at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.

Standalone WP (org) and WordPressdotcom are different entities; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Best wishes.
