How to do a trial on themes?

I already have a website and want to update it. How do I set up a test site to try some different themes?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create a new private site, for testing purposes, via the following page:
https://wordpress.com/start/survey
After you have created your test site, you can then export the content from your “real” site and import it before experimenting.
