How to draw attention… a personal blog–and a widget

I have a blog made simply to display my writings. While I’m not begging for thousands of views, a bit more than I have would be fine. ( : My issue is not having a steady flow of people checking in. I’ve had a day of 58 views (no idea where they came from), and another of 1. How crazy is that? I update often, and I’d really like to see just a bit more. Also, I saw a widget displaying the places that visited the blog. Where can I find this?

Try doing a search of the forums: there are over a thousand tips here already.
As for the widget, it’s probably http://Clustrmaps.com which is a very cool widget; put the code into a text widget, add a title, and you’re good.

I have seen a few of the threads. Are there any options other than linking your username, and posting on other blogs? Those seem so common.

Yes. ( : You’ve got an eye. I haven’t done the first because I’m not entirely sure I want to (for various reasons I’m not going to go into–althought without doing so, I know I sound irritating, I apologize), and I haven’t done the latter because I haven’t had much of a chance to browse WordPress. I have just recently, however, posted on my aunt’s blog… so I’m getting there! My issue really, is finding a way that’s comfortable–a little more picky. We’ll see. Thank you!
