how to edit embedded video

  I have collected several youtube clips, parts of each of which are illustrative of an essay, but I want to make visible only a minute or two of each, in order that the narrative can flow. Can I edit an embedded youtube video.without downloading it to my PC, editing it and then embedding it. I expect I will want to do this often, so I would like to do it from within the wordpress software? Isthis possible?

  No and no.
  The best you can do is start the YouTube video at a specific time:
