How to edit format of e-mail

When I publish a post, it automatically sends an e-mail to my followers. I’ve noticed that is sends the entire post with photos, and the formatting is not very attractive (alignment is off and looks unprofessional). I have followed other blogs which e-mail only a summary of the post with one photo and that looks better. I cannot figure out how to e-mail only a summary with a single photo and links to my blog so my followers can see the post in its proper formatting on the site. Is this possible?

Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> There is a send summery on the page somewhere – check that box and save changes

I saw that option and thought it would change the formatting of all the blog posts on the web site to summary. I just made the change and it did not summarize the main blog, so hopefully it will summarize the e-mails instead. Thanks!

Changes the RSS feed & email – does nothing else to your blog

I use that to make the email shorter – once in a while there are a lot of pictures and I don’t want them in the inbox of readers
