how to edit gcal repeating events w/out double display on upcoming event widget?
-
hi there :)
i have the ical feed from a google calendar set to appear on my site in the upcoming events widget. i know that recurring events sometimes translate incorrectly or are double displayed, and i am aware that deleting and re-adding these events sometimes solves the problem, but I don’t think that is the solution in this instance (see below) and i’m not sure what is:my calendar features a regular (monthly) meeting event set to repeat. some time before meetings take place, i enter presenter details in the description field of the already-existing recurring calendar event, usually for several meetings at once. until i enter details for each meeting, the meetings appear once on my upcoming events widget; but once i enter a description, the are displayed twice.
deleting and re-adding the recurring meeting event every time i have to enter presenter details just does not seem reasonable, because the double diplay error seems to remain an issue anytime i try to enter more than one description; meaning, i do not appear able to add presenter information to more than one meeting at a time without triggering this problem.
any ideas how i can correct this, so that i can create a recurring event once but add descriptions to individual events in that series without them being displayed twice on the widget? thanks!! :)

Hey there!
Sorry you’re having this trouble with the calendar.
I noticed you’re using the iCal widget with your Google calendar. Instead, could you use a Text widget, and embed your Google calendar using the instructions below:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-calendar/Please set that up, and let me know if that solves the issue for you, and if there’s anything else at all I can do to help.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
