  • Hi there,

Can you tell me the URL of the site you’re working on?

Right now, you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com, and you don’t appear to own any sites hosted with us.

The video you link to does not apply to sites hosted on WordPress.com, but is showing a site using the open source version of WordPress, made by the community on WordPress.org. They provide support for that version of WordPress in the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

That said, the interface shown in that video at the timestamp you linked to is not part of WordPress at all. The person making that video is using code editor software, like Atom or SublimeText there. They’re accessing the files for their site directly from their computer’s hard drive, so they’re either working on a local installation of WordPress on their computer, or they’ve used another program like FileZilla to download their site’s files from their server to their computer via FTP. Once they’ve finished making edits to the files, they’ll then use FTP so upload the changed files back to their server.

You can find some more information on how this works here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/

For help with FTP access to your specific site, if you’re using WordPress at another host, please contact your hosting provider directly, as they control that.
