How to edit template post index page to show a fixed summary with a more tag?
-
I refer to the question posed in this post: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-set-show-summaries-only-in-main-page?replies=13
By what was discussed in it, I was wondering if there is a way to put the more tag without having to put it manually like mentioned in that above-mentioned post.
To put it further, how to edit the index.php (or whatever the page name is that deals with displaying the index of posts) to show a fixed summary (say, 2 lines) and add a “more” tag below it? -
Without a link to your blog we don’t know if you are in the right forum. And if you are talking about php files, you are definitely not in the right forum. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

Uh, ok. I guess I made a mistake. I came here by googling and I thought after reading the post, I could relay that here. As for the blog, I’m doing it locally for now. Anyway, my apologies for posting without reading the rules.
