Hi Emma, to edit your footer from your dashboard go to ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Widgets’, and from there under ‘Available Widgets’ you can drag the box that says ‘Text’ to one of the boxes on the right of your screen that will say ‘Footer 1’, ‘Footer 2’ and ‘Footer 3’ (Footer 1 will appear at the left of the page on your blog, Footer 3 at the right, and 2 in the middle). A text box will open where you can type what you want and save to update your blog. I hope this helps.

Oh and I should say that in the text box anything you put in the ‘Title’ field will automatically appear in a larger and bolder font, so you may wish to put ‘BEAUTY WILL SAVE THE WORLD’ in there instead.

Small correction: F2/F3 widgets will appear in the middle/right if you’ve added something to F1/Fs1&2.

Thanks soooo much luridtalesofdoom, I had to tweak it a bit, but thanks. I saw these Footer areas but had no clue to move the Text box in it! Da!
Aird88, funny I would never think I could teach something to someone else on wordpress.
so go to Dashboard > Links > Links Categories .Link Category Name [type the name you want] then click on Add category name at the bottom. Et voilà!

Don’t see the footer places on the right side. There are two places for Sidebars on the upper right, nothing for footer.

  • @miamidadedems The footer widget areas are specific to each theme. Your current theme only supports widgets in the two sidebar areas. Other themes like TwentyTen have spots in the footer for widgets.
