Hi there,
Those are part of the design, and can’t really be removed without using a bit of CSS. CSS customization is one of the features in our Premium plan:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Let me know if you want to go that route, and I can help!

First you’ll need to upgrade to Premium at the link below:
https://wordpress.com/plans/When you do that, you’ll receive a number of features, like a domain name (example.com) and custom design/CSS features.
Once you upgrade, you’ll see your additional customization tools at:
https://wordpress.com/customize/In there, you’ll find a CSS menu. Click through that, and paste this code into the CSS editor:
.archive h1.title { display: none; }Save the changes, and you’ll no longer see the page titles you had described.
The sky’s the limit with CSS, so you might have a look at this guide to see what’s possible.
