How to embed a player widget from Mixcloud?
-
Hi Happiness Engineers! I am so relieved to know you have such fantastic help options. Thank you WordPress family. Ok, my problem: so, I am trying to embed a player widget from my Mixcloud account but it won’t work using either the “visual” or “text” options in the “new post” page. Any suggestions? Here’s the code Mixcloud makes available for copying and pasting onto other sites:
Time Enough At Last<span> by </span>Solidstatedeluxe<span> on </span> Mixcloud</p><div style=”clear:both; height:3px;”></div></div>
Thanks for your help!

type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”opaque”
Not gonna happen. Major security risk.

Please ignore the above bullshit reply, and paste this in the Text editor:
[gigya src="http://www.mixcloud.com/media/swf/player/mixcloudLoader.swf" flashvars="feed=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2Fsolidstatedeluxe%2Ftime-enough-at-last%2F&embed_uuid=12ef1cce-fd9e-4633-a481-7b4ea5b11238&stylecolor=&embed_type=widget_standard" wmode="opaque" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="480" ] -
Hey justpi, thanks so much. It works great. This was so generous of you.
If I want to post again in the future, would I have to use a similar code? Why doesn’t the Mixcloud widget work?
-
You’re welcome.
WP doesn’t allow us to use embed codes directly. If you want to post something similar in the future, you need to convert it the way I showed above. -
Hey guys, I have the same problem, I cannot embed any mixcloud content, nor an individual cloudcast or a playlist and the answer justpi did does not work for me.
My blog: http://mijaconairofficial.wordpress.com/
This is the playlist I want to embed: http://www.mixcloud.com/MijacOnAir/playlists/cultivados/

Justpi can you help with this one?
Celine Quinn’s Cloudcasts<span> on </span> Mixcloud</p><div style=”clear:both; height:3px;”></div></div>
I worked out….
[gigya src=http://www.mixcloud.com/media/swf/player/mixcloudLoader.swf” flashvars="feed=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2Fcelinequinn%2F%3Flimit%3D10&embed_uuid=c248e782-93d6-409d-9109-d3f9bde07e53&stylecolor=&embed_type=widget_standard" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="opaque" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="480"]
but it’s not working! :-(
Thanks so much !

I think either mixcloud or wordpress have changed something because now when I try to use the Gigya code I get the message “Widget path does no exist cannot load the player”.
-
@celinequinn: It’s not working because it’s missing the quotation mark before http and it’s got the wrong quotation mark after swf.
Correct shortcode:
[gigya src="http://www.mixcloud.com/media/swf/player/mixcloudLoader.swf" flashvars="feed=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2Fcelinequinn%2F%3Flimit%3D10&embed_uuid=c248e782-93d6-409d-9109-d3f9bde07e53&stylecolor=&embed_type=widget_standard" wmode="opaque" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="480" ] -
@justpi Thank you so much for your help, I’ve been battling with that for so long!! It’s working now :-) Can I ask you one more favor? I am trying also to embed Issuu.com publications. For example, here is an embed code from Issuu.com…
<div data-configid=”6549743/1072537″ style=”width: 650px; height: 405px;” class=”issuuembed”></div><script type=”text/javascript” src=”//e.issuu.com/embed.js” async=”true”></script>
Thank you again so so much! :-)

@Justpi Thanks I read your post but I can’t seem to match it up.. my embed code from Issuu is much shorter than the one in your example and doesn’t have the same style of coding? e.g. the one I’m trying to do…
<div data-configid=”6549743/1072537″ style=”width: 650px; height: 405px;” class=”issuuembed”></div><script type=”text/javascript” src=”//e.issuu.com/embed.js” async=”true”></script>
Maybe I’m just an idiot! Thanks a million anyway for your help! :-)

Quoting from my post:
Click the “Get Embed Code” button on the Issuu page, [Update: then click for “the old embed page”]

Hey @justpi, I struggled a little bit with the code but i couldn’t get the embedd link to work on my blog. the text I got from mixcloud is:
Hot Friday Winter Sweet Mixtape<span> by </span>Dor Levy<span> on </span> Mixcloud</p><div style=”clear:both; height:3px;”></div></div>
thanks in advance

Did you study the example I had given above? You just take this part of the code:
<embed src="URL?ETC ETC ETC ETC"></embed>
and turn it to this (making sure you also add the missing http: for the URL):
[gigya src="URL" flashvars="ETC ETC ETC ETC" ]So, in your case:
[gigya src="http://www.mixcloud.com/media/swf/player/mixcloudLoader.swf" flashvars="feed=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mixcloud.com%2Fdorlevy925%2Fhot-friday-winter-sweet-mixtape%2F&embed_uuid=020214e8-dfcc-4b84-98ef-79c7aff20e26&stylecolor=&embed_type=widget_standard" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="opaque" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="480" ]
