How to embed Vimeo on a wordpress.com blog?

  We’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. If it were displaying 4:3, the entire screen would be filled and the sides would be cut off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_Aspect_Ratio Look at the photos here. You are not losing any of your image.

  You’re absolutely right Vivian, we’ll have to agree to disagree. It’s semantics, really. I realize my video is smaller and shown as widescreen inside a 4:3 box I want it to show without the letterboxing.

  I’m afraid your “semantics” are flawed. If you have a 4:3 TV screen, you won’t say it doesn’t play widescreen movies when it does (with the exact same black borders), and you wouldn’t say it would only be widescreen if the TV set itself shrunk in height or expanded in width.

  As I said in my previous post, you can’t do anything about it as long as wp only allows us to use the shortcode and as long as wp has set that shortcode to be at 400×300. The only thing you can do is submit a request to staff in the Ideas section of the forum.

  Hi,

  Iam also having no luck embedding a larger size video clip from vimeo, I have asked this question myself with no luck vimeo say that if you click the “embed” button in the corner of your video and customise the size within vimeo and then copy the code into your blog that should work, but it seems that wordpress or some of the free templates have restrictions on size, the only other option is to buy some CSS credits and try it in there which I have no knowledge of so Im stuck, until WordPress address this we are all stuck guessing!

  Resizing options are currently not included in this.

  I meant the posting before me by “michaelscanlon” was able to embed in FULL HD 16×9.

  don’t tease us like this :(
