How to export and ignore attachement post types
-
I just exported my word press blog and from 105 posts there were 156 records exported.
I sorted out that it was because it was considering some uploaded images as posts.
Some are <wp:post_type>post</wp:post_type> (*I want to keep those)
And some are <wp:post_type>attachment</wp:post_type> (*I don’t want to have these)
How can I ignore these?
thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When viewing your blog’s Media Library (Media -> Library), there is a filter available to show Unattached files. If you click on its link, all of the media files not associated with a post or page (i.e. you did not upload them from within a post or page) will be displayed. Attaching files (images, specifically) to a post allows you to use them as part of a Gallery for that post or page.
As you have already completed the export form your wordpress.COM blog into your wordpress.ORG installl you can edit the posts with images attached to them and delete the images attached to them. Then, if you wish to remove the images from your Media Library completely, you can delete the images there.
We don’t provide support here for those with wordpress.org installs so please post to this support forum in the future. http://wordpress.ORG/support/
