How to export images from media library when migrating
-
I am currently in the process of migrating my wordpress.com hosted site to an independent installation. Could you please tell me the quickest way to export my images and static files from the media library?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The attachments (images) will accompany the exported contents.
Dashboard > Tools > ExportWhen you click the button below WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer.
This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.
Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function on another WordPress blog to import this blog.
-
During the import process to the new wordpress blog, you will see a button appear on the import page that will ask if you want to import the images. Click that button and it will import all your images as well.
