How To Find A Like?

  • Unknown's avatar

An email from WP reports I just got the first like on my site. Given that this might be the last like too :-) I’d like to see what was liked. I looked at all the control panels but didn’t see a like list. Did I miss it?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

The email should indicate and link to the specific post that was liked. You should also see a notification of the like if you click on the bell-icon top-right. That notification should also be linking back to the post that was liked, and will also indicated the username of the person who gave you the like, linking back to their own site if they have one attached to their username.

Likes aren’t shown anywhere in the dashboard, only in notifications.

    Add a Like Button

Thank you for the response. The first like I got didn’t come with any link to anything, thus my question. I have received subsequent likes that were as you describe. I was being liked by people I don’t really wish to be liked by :-) if you know what I mean, but WP can’t do anything about that so delete and ignore is the solution there.

Have a good one. Stay safe.

Hm, that is odd. Next time it happens, make a screenshot, upload it to your media library and reach out via https://wordpress.com/help/contact – with your plan you can access support via live chat :)

I can’t get the whole thing in a screen shot, but here’s the text…

Don’t need a solution. If I see another one of these I’ll just delete it. Maybe this is the message for a first like on a site? Dunno…

Congratulations! Somebody likes what you have to say.

Happy day! You’ve received your first like on nuke-ban.org. Someone out there likes what you have to say. Why not give them more to read by creating your next post?

Now wait, just hold on for one cottin pickin second….

I see your screen name is freeatomica. You’re not that person handing out free nuclear weapons on the Internutz are you? I sure hope not, cause the 37,839 visitors an hour I get on my site are not going to like that one little bit!!

I knew there was something fishy about this whole WP thing, I knew it!

  • No, her screen name says fresatomica not freeatomica . Fresa means strawberry in Spanish, which she has an affinity for.

Sorry, I should have put some smilies in that post, as I was attempting to make a joke. I don’t actually think anyone at WP is handing out free nuclear weapons. Ok, so I’m not ready for my own comedy special, agreed.

  • Well, I am glad to hear that you were joking – it’s just hard to tell over text, but we definitely err on the side of caution given the current climate. No worries :)

No problem, and again, sorry. The problem is that my humor is so advanced that only I understand it.

You don’t get why that is funny, do you?

    See? Advanced! Very advanced!

Of maybe just stupid. Definitely one of those.

OMG, OMG, no smilies in this interface!!!!!

  • There is —–> 😂

You can hit control + command + spacebar to open up emojis via the mac and use them. Not sure about PC, but this may work.

Aha! The secret hidden emojis! I’m on Mac too, works here, thanks.
