How to find a theme where you can add buttons

How to find a theme that is fully customisable meaning I can add buttons that open as dropdowns and/or new pages. Do I have to first find a theme that has the buttons I like or can I pick any theme (free?) and then just add the buttons to do that? When I try this so far there is no way to add buttons though?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

You can search themes by features, and add button to the search field:
    https://wordpress.com/themes/free?s=button

Different themes have different button styles, but the shortcode to add buttons to your pages/posts is:

    <a href=“#" class=“button">Button</a>

Just change # with your link.

You can find more information on how to add the button, within the documentation of the specific theme you are using.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Tania. I have now used the shortcode to modify my table text to be buttons – perfect! Just what I was wanting. You’ve helped a WordPress newbie get rolling! Thank you so much.
