How to find previous conversations
-
Okay, I got a response to one of my questions and I’ve been all over the app and can’t get back to the conversation. So frustrating! I love what word press can do but this is so not user friendly–how do I locate previous tickets within the app? Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I don’t see that you’ve opened any other forum threads but this present one, which you can see in your forum profile here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/chereabanik
Which app are you referring to? The desktop or one of the mobile apps? If the conversation took place there in a live chat window with one of the WordPressdotcom Staff, you would have received a copy of that chat by email when it was concluded. There’s no way to pick up a previous live chat.
Regardless, let us know in this forum thread what the issue is and we’ll try to help you with it.

I’m referring to the app on my smartphone. I have an iPhone 6. It wasn’t live chat–I submitted a ticket from using the contact us feature through the help option in one of the several menus that appear in the app. That was on Sunday. Last night when I opened my WP app, I had a banner appear that took me to the response from the help desk which led me to a link to try to solve my issue and also asked for more info. I tried the link to see if it would solve my problem. It didn’t. Somehow I found the message again and replied. Then I did some more playing around in the app. I wanted to update the ticket again, but then I spent several minutes trying to get back to the conversation and could not find anything but the standard options in the help menu which took me to this public forum. What I had before was a private ticket and I had sent a copy of the blog post I was having issues with.
Hopefully that helps. I still can’t find the ticket to add more information to it. I have not received any emails on that ticket either–only on this forum.
Thanks much.

Thanks for the added information. I’ve tagged this thread for Staff attention. They will be able to see your support history and follow up with you.
Best wishes.

Hi there,
Sorry about that. It looks like the latest update to the iOS app might have broken something in the helpdesk link. We’re looking into that so we can get it working again.
Meanwhile, I hope you don’t mind if I continue helping you here.
Your site’s theme does not support featured images. You can still upload them using the app or the new editor, and it should appear with your post in the Reader, but it won’t appear on the post itself. To have the image appear in the post, you need to add it in the text area of the post when creating/editing the post itself.
The reason no image is showing on Facebook is because your site is set to private. When you share a link on Facebook, they send a little program to visit your site and gather information for the post preview. But setting your site to private prevents Facebook from seeing any content on it, so there’s no content Facebook can display in the preview.
Is there a difference between gravatar and blavatar?
Yes. Gravatar is your profile picture, so it’s shown when you leave a comment, and on themes that show an author bio on posts.
The Blavatar is your blog’s profile picture if you want. If someone opens your blog that image will appear as the favicon in their browser tab, and will be included if you generate a pingback to someone else’s site, it shows next to your site title if someone is showing your site in their Blogs I Follow widget, and it’s used as the thumbnail image when sharing posts that don’t have any other images.

Thanks for your help!
I had my blog set to public but still didn’t get a picture when I shared my page on FB, but I only had a gravatar image and not a blavatar image. I added a blavatar image last night, so I will try changing my settings and see if that helps.
Please forgive my frustration, I like everything to be in one place and in word press it seems to take you all over and I lose track of where I’m at–hopefully that will get better with use.
Thanks again.

When you set your site to public again the image might still not show up on Facebook. This is due to Facebook’s own cache which saves link previews so it won’t have to go fetch them again in future.
So, after setting your site to public, enter your post’s URL at this link:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/
Click Debug, then click Fetch New Scrape Information.
You should then see the preview that Facebook will show at the bottom showing either an image you added to the post, or your blavatar image. Note that sometimes you need to click the Fetch button a few times before it will change.
If it still won’t show your blavatar, make sure you’re using an image at least 500×500 pixels big as your blavatar.
I like everything to be in one place and in word press it seems to take you all over and I lose track of where I’m at–hopefully that will get better with use.
We’re actually working on this, but for the app support we need to use a third-party service at this point so it’s not linked to the rest of our support system. But hopefully that will change going forward.
