How to find version number

I cannot find my WordPress version number. I am using the Twenty Eleven theme. I have searched for solutions. My Dashboard does not display a version number. It says only, “WordPress.com running Twenty Eleven theme.”

that’s because version numbers don’t count here – the staff do the updates for you and we are a beta test for .ORG changes so the software running here is usually a bit ahead of the last stable release the public has access to

Does that mean that if I’m having a different problem, for which the version number is possibly relevant (e.g., I’m currently having a problem uploading media files), that it is not possible for me to determine whether the issue is version-related?

The version number is not relevant here – period – searching the internet for “version number problems” only gives you results for WordPress.ORG installs,

For media uploading issues – please open a new thread titled something to the effect “Media Upload Problems” – and describe in as much detail the problems you are having and any error messages you get
